Welcome to Higgs Field, where we offer a fresh and exciting approach to vegetarian cuisine, with a contemporary Irish menu that changes with the seasons. Using locally farmed and foraged ingredients, we create beautiful and innovative dishes, while supporting sustainable farm to table practices.

 

We believe that every meal should be an experience that's positively charged.

Just like the Higgs field, which gives particles mass and helps create the building blocks of the universe, our vegetarian cuisine is fundamental to everything we do. 

Our last day of Higgs field service at St. Kieran’s Street will be Sunday, August 27.  

Conor and his partner are awaiting the arrival of a new member to their growing family. In light of this, we've made the difficult decision of closing the doors of Higgs field for a few months. While this closure comes with a mix of emotions, hopefully it will allow us the opportunity to recharge, refocus and return with even greater passion and creativity.

 

We are immensely grateful for your support and patronage of Higgs Field and we’ll be sure to keep you updated on future re-opening plans. We’ve been delighted by your response and enthusiasm for local, sustainable, farm-to-table vegetarian dining here in Kilkenny. We are also grateful for owners, Rory and Laura Gannon, and Cakeface, who championed our launch.

Conor Higgins, Head Chef

Born and raised in Kilkenny, Conor has recently returned from Canada, where he honed his culinary skills at some of Vancouver's top restaurants, including The Acorn and The Mackenzie Room. With a deep-rooted passion for sustainability, Conor is committed to zero waste, eating seasonally, foraging, and utilizing locally produced ingredients. His dedication to these principles is reflected in his innovative and delectable creations, showcasing the best of what nature has to offer.
